Kristen Beightol Named to Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite 2020

Kristen Beightol, Founding Partner and Personal Injury Lawyer of Edwards Beightol Law, in Raleigh, North Carolina

Founding Partner Kristen Beightol has been elected to the 2020 edition of Business North Carolina magazine’s Legal Elite!

Recognizing a small percentage of all practicing lawyers in the state, Legal Elite honors the state’s top attorneys, as chosen by their peers, who handle business-related legal matters. Kristen was selected for inclusion in the Litigation category.

About Business North Carolina Magazine’s Legal Elite

Since 2002, Business North Carolina magazine’s Legal Elite has set the standard for legal awards and listings by placing an emphasis on the feedback of legal professionals – those best suited to evaluate the skills of some of the state’s most talented lawyers, and select practitioners who’ve exemplified what it means to excel in complex areas of law.

By way of a statewide ballot sent to every member of the NC State Bar living in North Carolina, judges, lawyers, and other bar members are each asked a simple question:

“Of the Tar Heel attorneys whose work you’ve seen firsthand, whom would you rate among the current best?”

The top vote-getters in each category are ultimately named to the annual publication – with categories ranging from Antitrust and Bankruptcy to Real Estate, Appellate, and Litigation. BNC’s selection process may be simple in theory, but it’s the backbone of what’s become one of the state’s most trusted and reputable legal guides – particularly in the ever-evolving and high-stakes field of business law.

About Kristen Beightol

Kristen’s selection to the Business North Carolina magazine’s Legal Elite 2020 is well-deserved. She has dedicated her nearly 20 years in practice to litigating tough cases – primarily on behalf of the catastrophically injured. While the majority of Kristen’s career has been focused on the area of medical malpractice, she has experience in other areas of litigation, including personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, nursing home negligence, trucking accidents, premises liability, and insurance coverage. She has also represented governments across the nation against online travel companies in litigation to recover unpaid taxes on hotel and rental car reservations.

Kristen also has previous experience representing insurance carriers, businesses, and individuals accused of negligence. These experiences have given her helpful knowledge of the “other side” and their go-to tactics. Her insight proves invaluable to our clients at Edwards Beightol, many of whom find themselves facing off against powerful corporations that prioritize profits over people.

This latest award comes on the heels of several other recent recognitions of Kristen – including her selection to the 2020 publication of North Carolina Super Lawyers and the 2020 edition The Best Lawyers in America for Litigation – Insurance.
