Having practiced employment law for over 20 years, Nicholas J. Sanservino, Jr. (“Nick”) brings unique and invaluable experience to Edwards Beightol.
Practical & Unique Experience.
Between 1999 and 2010, Nick practiced at Proskauer Rose LLP (in New York City), Jones Day (in Washington D.C.) and Ogletree Deakins (in North Carolina), three of the nation’s largest and most respected management-side law firms. While at these firms, Nick successfully represented Fortune 500 companies, sports leagues/teams and entertainment entities in almost every conceivable employment situation, including in federal and state courts throughout the United States; high-stakes labor arbitrations; and administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor and National Labor Relations Board. Nick also became well-versed in handling appeals, particularly at the federal appellate level.
In 2010, Nick decided to represent individuals in employment disputes and joined The Noble Law Firm as its first attorney hire. For the next 12 years, Nick was a primary catalyst in driving Noble Law’s rapid growth, becoming an equity partner who routinely secured most of the Firm’s largest pre-litigation settlements and won Noble Law’s first jury trial and subsequent appeal thereof.
Due to his extensive management-side experience, Nick is familiar with and can anticipate the practical and legal strategies companies employ in litigation. Due to the high-profile nature of some of his work, Nick’s employment cases have been covered by the press.
Respected.
Nick’s “bulldog” reputation in litigation can be traced to his Italian heritage and northern New Jersey roots. This is something many clients have appreciated. At the same time, Nick is respected by employment defense counsel throughout North Carolina and regularly receives referrals from them, including for members of their immediate family suffering from unlawful employment decisions.
Based upon his accomplishments, Nick has been included in all three editions of North Carolina Lawyer’s Weekly’s Power List of Employment Lawyers. Approximately 30 Employment lawyers from across the State are selected for inclusion.
The 2023 and 2024 Lawdragon Guides have listed Nick among the top 500 Leading Civil Rights & Plaintiff Lawyers from across the Nation. Nick also has been selected as a North Carolina Super Lawyer in Employment Law by his peers since 2021 and recognized as a Business North Carolina Legal Elite in Employment Law for 2024.
C-Suite Specialist.
In addition to representing individuals in almost every type of employment dispute, Nick has created a niche practice of representing C-suite and other upper-level executives in employment contract and complex compensation disputes. He has become an established authority in this area.
Well-Rounded.
In his free time, Nick is an avid Tar Heel fan, fitness fanatic, super-fan of the band Iron Maiden and frequent visitor to his favorite vacation spots, Coronado and Disney World.
